Course Module:
This module has been developed to give the learner an understanding of the appropriate standards of animal welfare required by different species in different situations. The learner will develop an awareness of how the domestication of animals impacts on animal welfare.
Specific Learning Outcomes:
Week 1: Evolution and domestication of different species
Week 2: Laws and regulatory authorities
Week 3: Needs of different domesticated species
Week 4: Reproductive management
Week 5: Animal health
Week 6: Personal health and welfare
Week 7: Exam
