About Us
METAC Training is the largest energy training and assessment centre in the UK and Ireland and trains approximately 2,700 people annually. Our realistic training facilities equip people with practical skills for the modern workforce that are nationally recognised by FAS, FETAC, City & Guilds, UKAS, Bord Gais and OFTEC, amongst others. All courses we run are independently certified and verified by external agencies.
In September 2010, we invested and installed a 16 metre 6KW wind turbine and accompanying Photovoltaic systems at our centre which was supported and grant aided by Laois Partnership Ltd. making us the first and only training centre to do so. This facility now allows us to expand our renewable energy training to incorporate wind training.
On completion of our courses all participants are equipped with practical skills that are nationally recognised by FAS, Bord Gais, City & Guilds and OFTEC.
Since late 2010, we have expanded our range of training to incorporate business, computers, vocational and hobby courses. We decided to increase our range of courses to meet the needs of people looking for quality training and assessment which will provide them with qualifications recognised by FETAC amongst others. Our trainers all work in the industries both nationally and internationally in which they train which ensures they are up-to-date with the latest technologies and issues that participants may face on a daily basis. They continually revise and update their skills to ensure they impart the latest knowledge to participants.
Our customers include individuals working in the energy industry, Bord Gais, Calor Gas, Dublin City Council, Dundalk Institute of Technology, Offaly County Council, Tralee Town Council, Department of Defence amongst others. For each of them, we provide quality training tailored to the needs of their clients.

After serving a 4year FAS apprenticeship in plumbing and 2 years industry experience, I did my GID with METAC. I was so pleased with the high standards and training facilities, I decided to do the Domestic Servicing course on gas boilers with them. During my time there I was informed by the owner of METAC of a prosperous London company who wrote to METAC looking for gas engineers - after contacting the company and attending an interview I was offered a position with them.
