Domestic Heat Pump Systems

AIM:

The aim of the course is to equip Learners with the knowledge, skill and competence to design, install and commission heat pump systems for domestic space heating and hot water supply in accordance with applicable standards and codes of practice.

OBJECTIVES:

The programme will provide an extensive insight into Heat Pump Systems and will prepare candidates for the end of programme examinations. Learners who successfully complete the course and are recommended for certification, can apply for registration with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland as a Qualified Installer.

  • Site Assessment
  • Specifying the Heat Pump
  • Installing the Heat Pump.
  • Hydronic Integration.
  • Modes of Operation.
  • Installation and Testing of Heat Pump Systems.
  • Commissioning and Testing the Heat Pump.
  • Maintenance

Trainee profile: Level 6 National Craft Certificate or Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing, Electrical, Refrigeration, Fitters  or equivalent.

Location: METAC Training

Duration: 5 days

Certification: QQI 6N5646 Component Award in Domestic Heat Pump Systems Level 6

 

In 2011 the trade of Fitter was renamed Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting

Please note:
Application forms with all details including payment must be completed before training/assessment commences. Two recent photographs(passport style and size in colour) must be submitted with each application.

Transfer and progression:
