Non-Domestic Gas – Catering & Laundry Installations (Elective Module)
Aim:
The aim of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to safely carry out non-domestic gas-fired catering and laundry installations in accordance with applicable standards, legislation and guidelines, whilst working on their own initiative or in a supervisory capacity.
Objectives:
On Successful Completion of this course participants will have acquired an extensive insight into non-domestic gas catering and laundry installations and will have the acquired the skills and knowledge to safely carry out non-domestic gas works on same.

Unit 1: Introduction
Unit 2: Legislation and standards
Unit 3: Ventilation in relation to catering & laundry installations
Unit 4: Maintenance & repair of catering & laundry installation, appliances & equipment
Unit 5: Electrical testing and safety of catering and laundry installations
Unit 6: Combustion and ventilation of catering and laundry installations
Unit 7: Chimneys and flues in relation to catering and laundry installations
Unit 8: Maintenance and repair of catering and laundry appliances
Unit 9: Decommissioning of Non-Domestic gas-fired catering & laundry appliances
Unit 10: Practical workshop
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: QQI 6N20521 Minor Award in Domestic Gas & Pipework Safety Level 6

CERTIFICATION: QQI 6N20542 Minor Award in Space Heating & Hot Water Installation Level 6

Application forms with all details including payment must be completed before training/assessment commences. Two recent photographs(passport style and size in colour) must be submitted with each application.
Transfer and progression:
