Electrical Verification & Certification

Please note

METAC Training is an approved training centre for City & Guilds and is therefore certified to assess the Electrical Verification & Certification to a City & Guilds 2407 standard, a course recognised by the CRU. On successful completion of this assessment candidates can obtain a QC number, through their registration with the ESSB.

AIM:

This Electrical Verification & Certification assessment/course is to update the skills of electricians operating in the electrical industry, to verify, test, complete test records, and completion of certificates to comply with Safe Electric requirements.

OBJECTIVES:

On successful completion of this training the candidate will be able to,

  • Visually inspect a electrical installation and identify faults
  • Test the electrical system using required instruments to verify safety within the system in accordance with I.S. 10101:2020
  • Enable you to meet the requirements of clause 1.2.12 (iii) of section C of the CRU Criteria Document
  • Enable you to obtain a QC number through registration with the ESSB

 

CONTENT:

Module 1 - Pre assessment test on electrical safety

Module 2 - Visual inspections of faults on electrical systems

Module 3 - Inspection and test of domestic circuits, continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, loop impedance and RCD operation

Module 4 - Complete test record sheets and completion certificates

TRAINEE PROFILE:

(i) Served a recognised apprenticeship as an electrician and having been awarded a National Craft Certificate or

(ii) Another suitable electrical award, equivalent to Level 6 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications

DURATION: 2 Days or 4 Days Subject to experience on Testing and Verification

Please Note:

Application Forms with all details including payment must be completed before training/assessment commences. Two recent photographs (passport style and size in colour) must be submitted with each application.
