Under the new Boiler Passport Scheme for all new oil boilers it is now a requirement to be certified to install and commission oil boilers. Also under the SEAI Home Energy Scheme it is now a requirement to be certified and compliant person to ISO 17024.

To upgrade the skills and knowledge of the craft-persons as oil burner service engineers and progress through further training and work experience to OFTEC registration.

AIM:
To provide assessment to prove the competence of existing oil burner commissioning and service engineers who already have gained experience or qualifications in the field.

OFT 105E – Domestic/Light Commercial Oil Firing Installation Course

AIM:
This module is for experienced central heating installers who want to become OFTEC Registered as Installation Technicians. It covers the regulations and standards’ applying to oil fired heating installations, and also includes assessment that leads to OFTEC Registration. Technical literature and course study notes are provided.

OFT 600a – Oil Storage Tank Installation Course

AIM:
To upgrade the skills and knowledge of operatives on the installation and maintenance of oil storage tanks in the Domestic/Light Commercial sector.
CONTENT:
Codes of Practice & Building Regulations Control of Pollution legislation Types of oil and their identification Steel & Thermoplastic oil storage tanks Constructional Standards Tank Fitting & Tank Supports Bunding & Delivery Considerations Oil Supply Systems & Pipe work installations Gauges & Overfill alarms systems Contamination problems & Maintenance

TRAINEE PROFILE: Craft Certificate in Plumbing, Pipe Fitting/Welding, Heating & Ventilation, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or any other fossil fuel qualification e.g. Gas, Solid Fuel etc.

DURATION: 10 Days (2 days per week for 5 weeks – Mon/Tues, Wed/Thurs, Fri/Sat)
